hmm. lets see.of all the forms of voice and communion,a song is perhaps the least mediated by the intellect. and song is an exchange exactly that immediate and physiological. right?
well,it attests to the life of the singer thru our skin and thru our muscles,thru the wind in our lungs and the fact of our own beating heart. kinda,right?
speech is sound shaped into meaning thru words,inflection and modulation; music is sound shaped into meaning thru melody,rhythm and pitch. right?
so a song arises at the point where these two forces collide. and such an encounter can occur in more than one place. right?
a successful song is cellular and seismic,like a wave coalescing in the mind and in the flesh. right?
there is a message inside and outside, and those messages are very much the same.
right?
